October is a month in which we make a fresh committment to share our faith. I am going to be preaching a series on sharing your faith. We are also planning to offer a course called “Share Jesus without Fear”. It is a simple way to engage friends, family, and person X with the gospel…..gordon

We pray that this will be a great weekend for you and your family. This holiday marks the end of summer and the beginning of that best of all seasons….FOOTBALL!!!
Sunday morning will be a great service as we welcome Harry Layden to lead our worship. Our pastor will be leading us into God’s Word, as we continue to seek after God’s heart as a church. There will be no Sunday evening service, but we want to encourage you to take some time to thank God for His abundant blessings in your life.
These are exciting days around Eastwood!

Just a quick note to ask you to take some time this week and next to pray for our students. School is back and our students need your prayers. One of the most difficult places to live a Christian life these days is in our local middle and high schools. Wednesday night one of our middle school students asked us to pray for several of her friends who are pregnant (yes, i said middle school!).
God has blessed Eastwood with some amazing young people, who have a heart to know and serve God, and they need our prayers. We are praying as a student ministry to see at least 7 students come to know Christ this year as a result of our students life and witness. Will you join us in this prayer?
In addition we have a great group of students who are headed off to university this month. Pray for them as they make the adjustment to collegiate life.
I am excited about what God is doing in and through the students at Eastwood. The future is as bright as the promises of God!

What an incredible time we had in Mexico last week. A team from Eastwood and Southwood had the privilege of working with our IMB missionary in Colima, Jeff Swanson. Colima is the third oldest city in Mexico and is less than 2% evangelized.
Our team took part in “gospel saturation” which is getting gospels of John in every house in a specific area, as well as working with a local home group seeking to plant a new church. It was awesome to see God’s hand at work as we partnered with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
It is our goal that in the coming days we will have the opportunity to involve more folks from Eastwood in this dark corner of Mexico. Please pray for the Swanson’s and the people of Colima Mexico!
