Mission Trips

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to Colima:

A group of 12 missionaries will leave Tulsa on July 20 for Colima, Colima Mexico. Colima is the City and also the State. It is located about an hour North of the Pacific Ocean and 2 hours South of Guadalajara.

We will be working with IMB missionaries Jeff and Deliegha Swanson. They have been in Colima for about three years.

The following are some of the things we hope to do:

1) prayer walking 2) witnessing in main square and public areas 3) door-to-door witnessing 4) cell group ministry 5) sports ministry 6) youth ministry 7) Sunday morning worship service.

We have been asked to do the music and messages for all the events.

Please pray for our team’s safety, success in bringing glory to God and the finances we need. Below is our team:

David, Ben, Adam, Elizabeth, Jeff, Charles, Ben, Michelle, Julia, Gordon, Craig, Kyle

This Saturday (the 25th) we will go fishing again. The “people kind of fishing”. We will meet at Lindbergh at 9:00 a.m. They have a $3 breakfast fundraiser for the school.

Eastwood is now a Partner in Education with Lindbergh and the breakfast is one way we can support them. The school is in our backyard or we are in the schools backyard, how ever you look at it…it’s next door.

I hope to see you Saturday. God loves to change lives and He uses us to partner with Him.

“A tiny group of believers who have the Gospel keep mumbling it over and over to themselves. Meanwhile, millions who have never heard it once fall into the flames of eternal hell without ever hearing the salvation story.” K.P. Yohannon, President of Gospel for Asia

What an incredible time we had in Mexico last week.  A team from Eastwood and Southwood had the privilege of working with our IMB missionary in Colima, Jeff Swanson.  Colima is the third oldest city in Mexico and is less than 2% evangelized.

Our team took part in “gospel saturation” which is getting gospels of John in every house in a specific area, as well as working with a local home group seeking to plant a new church.  It was awesome to see God’s hand at work as we partnered with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

It is our goal that in the coming days we will have the opportunity to involve more folks from Eastwood in this dark corner of Mexico.  Please pray for the Swanson’s and the people of Colima Mexico!

P.S.  Did I mention a day at the beach?!?

Be sure and join us this Sunday morning at Eastwood as Gordon continues his series on hearing the voice of God.  This week we will be looking at Psalm 19, and one of the ways in which God speaks to all people.  If you get the chance read Psalm 19 and come ready to hear from God!

By the way,  Sunday night we will have the privilege of hearing a report on Ben Cole’s recent trip to Brazil.  Join us as we celebrate together the great things that God is doing in South America.
