What a great summer!

July 31, 2008

It’s hard to believe that summer is rapidly coming to a close (school starts for our students in the next couple of weeks), but what a great summer we have had at Eastwood!  We have seen God’s hand at work in the lives of our young people like never before.  Our students are excited about evangelism and following hard after Jesus, what a blessing to be their youth pastor!

I would ask you to pray for our young people as they head back to school this fall.  My prayer is that our local campuses would be different this year because of the presence of students who are sold out to Jesus, and are unafraid to talk about their Savior.

Dear Pastor Gordon, Brother Brian and I were discussing our Sunday School lesson on Heaven last week and we would like to ask you these questions. If no man can see or be in God the Father’s presence with out dying, and Jesus is seated at God the Father’s right hand, will we be able to see and talk to God the Father when we get to Heaven? Will Jesus have to leave God the Father’s side to fellowship with us in Heaven? Or, is not being able to see God the Father, face to face, only impossible while still a human on Earth and not prohibited when we get to Heaven? We read in the Bible that the Angels in God the Father’s presence also cover their eyes when in the Throne Room. Thank you in advance for sharing your great wisdom with us. Dr. Craig N. Lamb

When will see Jesus and God in Heaven and have perfect fellowship with the Father and the Son. This side of heaven we cannot see God’s face and live. However Jesus appeared to His disciples after the resurrection and they were able to eat, drink, and talk with Jesus. After He ascended to heaven He sat at the right hand of the Father. I can’t answer the question about leaving the Father’s side to have fellowship with us but I suspect that He is not confined to the throne.
